The new building is located 1725 28th Street at the corner of R and 28th.Streets and with 3,200 square feet of space, it is more than double the original location that was lost in the fire. Besides more space to better serve the community, the new site is less than a half mile from the old location and conveniently located near the light rail and Department of Human Assistance. Sutter Health and Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento are donating $30,000 and holding an employee food drive to help raise the 8,000 lbs of food lost in the fire. The food bank has also received a $5,000 donation from the Golden 1 Credit Union, seven PC computers from Western Health Advantage, and office furniture from Ruland’s Used Office Furnishings.
