A strong network of donors and volunteers is essential for us to continue our mission. We’re always in need of new and ongoing support to keep up with growing needs in our community. Getting involved with River City Food Bank is easy! Read on to find out how you can help.
Donate
There are fours ways you can donate to RCFB – set up a one-time or recurring monetary donation, include RCFB in your estate plan, donate grocery goods or join our Growing Circle. Learn more about how you can donate!
Volunteer
Help us serve over 300,000 meals per year! RCFB volunteers contribute 11,000 hours to stock food, prepare three-day food supplies, help with client intake and computer data entry and support administrative activities and education. There’s a role for everyone!
You can…
- Work at the food closet
- Talk to a local grocer about allowing you to collect food, and give people entering the store a “shopping list” for donations that they can give you upon exit
- Help with planning and support of Empty Bowls
- Write articles and assist with public relations
- Assist in the office
- Help with community education
- Help with grounds and maintenance
Volunteer needs
- A canned food drive coordinator
- Box returner (to Senior Gleaners and FoodLink)
- Volunteer for in-take desk (Tuesday)
- Volunteer who can substitute for vacationing regular volunteers
