DONATE FOOD OR IN-KIND SUPPLIES, AND HELP THOSE WHO ARE HUNGRY
While River City Food Bank purchases some important sources of good nutrition such as protein, donated food is what enables our volunteers to feed so many people on so little money.
With recent jumps in the unit cost of bulk food supplies, donations are more important than ever.
Here are ways that you can get involved:
Purchase and donate $25 gift cards from area grocery stores
Organize a food drive
Talk to a local grocer about allowing you to collect food, and give people entering the store a “shopping list” for donations that they can give you upon exit
Grow and donate fresh produce (tomatoes, squash, corn, fruits)
Collect personal toiletries – small and family size – such as hand soaps, toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrushes and dental floss
We almost always need:
Tuna (6 oz.)
Peanut butter (18 oz)
Pork & beans (14 oz.)
Hearty soups (10 oz.)
Canned tomatoes (14 oz.)
Canned fruit (14 oz.)
Macaroni and cheese packages
Diapers, formula and baby food
